The Manistee County Emergency Management Office is located at the Manistee County Sheriff’s Office, 1525 E. Parkdale Ave., Manistee, MI 49660.


Emergency Management Functions:

Coordinate mitigation, preparedness, response, and recovery activities for all emergency or disaster situations within Manistee County.

Coordinate and/or conduct training and exercises with Manistee County Emergency Response personnel.

Coordinate county emergency management activities with those of the State and adjacent jurisdictions.

Educate the public as to actions necessary for the protection of life and property in an emergency or disaster.

Develop and maintain local EOP’s (Emergency Operation Plans) with local facilities which are required by the State of Michigan.

Assure the emergency management program meets eligibility requirements for State and Federal aid.

Assist in the development of mutual aid agreements.

Assist with applying for and the carrying out of grants for Manistee County and Region #7.
