March 17, 2020

In order to help prevent the spread of COVID-19, Manistee County and Court operations will remain available, however, the Courthouse will be closed to the public effective March 17, 2020 at 5:00 P.M. through April 5, 2020.  Anyone needing county services or who have a previously scheduled appointment with a court or county office should call the respective office before traveling to a county building.

The public health and safety is our number one concern here in Manistee County and in light of the COVID-19 Pandemic, the recent orders by Governor Whitmer and recommendations from our Public Health Officers, it is clear that our objective must be to promote social distancing to limit the spread of this virus.  This change in operations represents our commitment to protecting our residents and employees to the extent possible, while maintaining essential county services.

All services that can be conducted alternatively (U.S. Mail, online or by phone) or delayed should be handled in that manner.  The public should contact the office or court in which they have business in order to determine whether such business can be delayed, conducted over the phone or online.

Please contine to visit our website for information regarding department services and for updates on the status of Manistee County operations.

Those with scheduled appointments will be screened upon entering the building.

Questions may be directed to the County Controller/Administrator David A. Kieft, Jr., at 231-398-3504
